First Photo Publication in Print
// Even though I see myself as a filmmaker and thus sell myself as one too, I do some photography from time to time as well. I don’t call myself a photographer since I just don’t spend enough time shooting stills – and actually, I prefer film anyway. However, I do still enjoy photography very much and it seems this has paid off with my first photo publication in print last week.
UP/DOWN Mountainbike Magazine has used my photos to illustrate two articles in their latest issue, 2014 #5. The first article is about bike rider Bart Leezer who, despite his physical limitations related to a spastic conditon, still rides all over Europe and even competes in endurance races. A great story I was happy to provide photos for. The second article is about the trip I did with Ride with the Locals in Liguria, Italy in november last year. UP/DOWN wanted to show that, even though for many Dutch cyclists the winter means riding in the rain and cold, in reality we’re just a plane ticket away from an amazing time in sunny warm Medeterranian Italy.
And thanks to their immaculate timing – I got the mag in the mail on the 23rd of December – UP/DOWN got me the best Christmas present I could ask for. Cheers guys!
